SEE HOW
WE’RE INTEGRATING HISTORY

Westmount is first and foremost a town steeped in history, Hillside Avenue has existed since the 1870s, and it was in 1911 that the Mount Royal Riding Academy was inaugurated. The building features a large arena for riding lessons, horse shows and stalls for up to 78 horses.

At the time, the building's imposing and four-storey height set it apart from its residential, commercial and industrial neighbors of less than two-and-a-half storeys.

Today, Hillside Lane follows in this historic footsteps, building on the architectural traces of this magnificent building. In this way, it preserves the authenticity and heritage character of this legacy, while blending harmoniously into the surrounding area.
